Right now there are three massive credit card bonuses that might entice you. In increasing order of annual fees, they are:
The Citi Hilton HHonors Visa Signature Card (link credit to View From the Wing). Usually the card has a 40,000 point bonus when you spend $2,000 in the first three months but right now the bonus is 75,000 points. Better yet: there is no annual fee. This is almost a no-brainer. As long as you have fine credit right now, you should get the card so you can spend the points on hotels. Also, you get Silver Status as long as you have the card (which includes the 5th night free at any hotel you stay at for five nights or more).
Marriott Rewards Visa card (link credit to View From the Wing). Usually this card has a 50,000 point bonus when you spend $3,000 within the first three months but right now it’s 80,000 points. There is an $85 annual fee that is not waived the first year but the benefits seemingly outweigh the costs. The annual free night will earn you that cost back instantly and probably more so.
American Airlines Citi Executive Card (link credit to View From the Wing). I am a proud owner of both the Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select and CitiBusiness / AAdvantage Platinum Select cards and have found them most useful in terms of their bonuses and benefits like free baggage on American Airlines flights and Zone 2 boarding to get better access to overheard compartments for luggage. This card has an annual fee of $450 that is not waived the first year but has amazing benefits. First: you will earn 75,000 bonus miles (enough to get a first-class ticket to Asia on Cathay Pacific). Second: you get access to all American Airlines clubs. Third: you get a waiver for one Global Entry $100 fee (a great bonus for those who want to avoid security lines).
